David Shanahan
David's sons Tim, Martin and Tony took
on the business in the early 1980s after
years of mentorship
and expertise from David. David continued to be involved in the business, working proactively and
providing advice to his sons until his passing in 2009.
The Shanahan brothers have gone on to bring
the business to new heights, keeping with the times through the constant updating of machinery
and operating a growing fleet of trucks and quarry equipment.
Beginning with David, the Shanahans have provided
their services to the Limerick, North-Kerry and
North-Cork regions for over 60 years.
David started the business in the late 1950s, working with a
single chop harvester to cut silage. He also provided ploughing and reseeding services. David opened
the quarry in the late 1960s,
starting out with a tractor and trailer for drawing stone.
